I had the privilege of preaching at Asbury Church last weekend, the week before we launch the Asbury Connection on Pentecost.

I talked about new beginnings and the opportunity we have with this beginning to consecrate ourselves for a new season in the life of our church.

I preached Joshua 1:1-9, a beginning I’ve been reading and praying on for years. I also shared three stories from the history of the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition that point to key beginnings for the Wesleyan tradition.

I had a timer on stage that was counting down to the beginning of our Pentecost service. It felt like the perfect image for me, because I wanted my sermon to kick off the final week of preparation for the beginning of the Asbury Connection.

I hope you’ll check out my sermon here:

I can’t wait to see what the Lord does this weekend!
