I am excited to announce that Melissa and I are expecting our first child. The due date we have been given is April 11th. This is something that we have been praying about and talking about for quite a while, we are both filled with excitement and anticipation. Though, we also recognize that there is so much of head of us that there is really no way to prepare for until it happens. We would appreciate your prayers for both mom and baby.

So, are you going to keep the sex of the baby a surprise or opt to find out in a few months?

Congrats!! Our prayers are for you too, Dad! You’re just as much as part of this as well. One piece of advice… don’t go nuts with buying the books and magazines and stuff. I don’t think we read half of everything we got. Experience is by far the best teacher!

Joseph (and Rahel) – thanks for the congratulations. I think we will probably not actively avoid finding out the sex of the baby, but we are still a few months away, so who knows what may happen.
Dan- Thanks for the advice on the books, that is definitely my temptation, to just go buy everything and read it. We have one book that has been helpful for giving me some idea of what is ahead, but that is it so far.
